Elation Health was founded

We started by building an EHR for our family’s own medical practice. Our original customer, Dr. Fong, has since retired, but we continue to help more than 44,000 clinicians navigate challenges and advance their craft, and we’re the largest community of primary care innovators.

**Patient Passport launches**  
One year after its initial launch, Elation EHR expands with a vital patient engagement tool: the Patient Passport portal.

### 2014

**API access to Developer Platform**  
Catering to the needs of [enterprise](https://www.elationhealth.com/who-we-serve/primary-care/enterprise/) practices, we released the Elation API to drive scalability for practices, enabling connectivity [with third-party labs](https://www.elationhealth.com/integrations/), practice management and billing systems, and other software tools.

### 2015

**Integrated Telehealth launches**  
HIPAA-compliant, fully integrated virtual care that feels like in-person care.

### 2020

**Elation acquires LightningMD**  
The strategic acquisition of LightningMD, a previous leader in cloud-based medical billing and payer connectivity, to combine Elation's clinical-first EHR with a modern medical billing software to be the sector's first all-in-one technology.

### 2022

**Elation Billing and Unified EHR launches**  
Elation's EHR can now integrate with the newly-released Elation Billing to create a unified EHR platform.

### 2023

**Note Assist launches**  
Elation Note Assist is an [AI-powered ambient scribe](https://www.elationhealth.com/solutions/ehr/note-assist/), using proprietary technology that enhances the patient-provider experience and reduces post-visit documentation time.

### 2024

**Natively-built AI in Elation EHR**
